Woodwind
The woodwind family is the oldest family of instruments known to man, with examples of early flutes being found dating back nearly 45,000 years. Because of the vast array of woodwind instruments available there is a suitable choice for everyone in this family. As well as all the academic advantages to playing a musical instrument, playing a woodwind instrument will teach you excellent breathing technique.
