Working at Berkshire Maestros
Working at Berkshire Maestros is highly rewarding – as a charity that aims to provide access to music education for children, it’s a workplace that is always alive with the sound of music and we are constantly seeking opportunities to improve children’s lives through the power of music. Our staff are from a range of backgrounds but all share a passion for both music and education.
What we can offer
Berkshire Maestros provides music lessons in most schools across Berkshire, as well as at our local music centres in Reading, Caversham, Newbury, Windsor, Wokingham and Bracknell. Our Head Office is based in Reading.
We are committed to adopting an inclusive approach, where all staff are treated with respect and kindness. We adopt supportive management practices and commit to investing in staff development through regular training and CPD opportunities. New staff are strongly supported, and the wellbeing of every member of staff is vitally important to us.
Working at Berkshire Maestros is extremely rewarding, and offers a unique opportunity for anyone who believes that music can make a difference.
We have a number of exciting vacancies for peripatetic teachers across Berkshire. We are looking for candidates to be appointed in guitar, violin, trumpet and vocal.
Music Centre Receptionist (Reading)
We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Receptionist to provide excellent customer service at one of our busy and successful music centres that we run across the county each day of the week.
We are looking for candidates to join our bank of music exam stewards for exam days. This will be on a casual basis for exam periods. No previous experience necessary.
Berkshire Maestros Trustee
We are looking for a new trustee to both join the board and to be an active member of the finance committee. We are particularly looking for someone who has a background as a finance professional in a commercial environment. Previous experience of charity finances would be beneficial but is not essential.
Berkshire Maestros is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Successful applicants will be subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
“I joined Berkshire Maestros’ Central Services team six years ago and I look forward to work every single day! I love it that no two days are the same and my role is varied, creative, exciting and challenging! I get a great sense of achievement from my work and I’m proud to be part of such a fantastic service for young people.”
