Berkshire Maestros Job Opportunities Berkshire Music Hub

Berkshire Maestros Instrument Hire Scheme

We offer a wide range of instruments on hire, with many available in versions specifically designed for players at all stages, from young beginners to advanced students, available from just £23 per term.

Who’s it for?

Anyone receiving tuition or attending an ensemble with us may apply to hire an instrument from us.

Those having individual or small group lessons can hire at a subsidised rate of only £23 per academic term. Hires that aren’t eligible for this price are charged at a standard rate dependant on the instrument value.

How do I apply?

Ask your teacher/ensemble leader for your personalised hire request information. They will supply this with a link to our online instrument request form. This is to ensure you are applying for the instrument that best suits your needs.

Please read our full terms and conditions of instrument hire here.

How do I return my instrument?

If you no longer wish to hire from us, please make an appointment to hand in your instrument at one of our Music Centres listed below. Follow the links for contact details:

Reading (for Reading and Bracknell)

Newbury (by appointment only – please contact the music centre to arrange)

Windsor (by appointment only – please contact the music centre to arrange)

When returning an instrument, always ask for a copy of the return form as your proof of the instruments return.

You must be at least 18 years of age to apply for a hire instrument. Berkshire Maestros instrument hires are subject to availability and the instrument you require may not be available at the time of completing the online form. If your request cannot be fulfilled the instrument team will contact you and advise.

Instrument hire for In2music whole class lessons

If your school is taking part in our In2Music first access programme and your child is already using an instrument in class, you can fill out the “Take it Home” hire form. Please ensure you have the instruments Barcode number/Reference ID to hand - this will be found stuck onto both the instrument and the instrument case.

Once you have completed the form and paid online, make a note of your WorldPay transaction number along with your child’s name and hand it in to your school to receive the instrument.

The hire charge entitles you to instrument hire until the end of the academic year, so long as you are continuing in tuition with us after your whole class lessons have ended. Your original instrument must be returned to the school and you should apply by the process above for a replacement instrument which will be provided at no additional charge.
