Berkshire Maestros is governed by a board of trustees who oversee everything the organisation does, sets the strategic direction of the organisation and makes sure it is running as efficiently as possible including overseeing key financial information to ensure continued viability and stability.
Providing strategic direction to ensure a stable future
Our Trustees come from a diverse range of backgrounds. We welcome all ages, genders, cultures and ethnicities to the board to ensure we are representing the diverse range of stakeholders we work with. Trustees have backgrounds in education, leadership, finance, business, marketing, law and IT, bringing a wide range of skills and experience.
However, what they all share is a passion for music education. Many trustees have worked for Berkshire Maestros or have children who have learnt instruments with us. All strive to champion and advance music education.
The board comprises representatives from primary and secondary education, SEND education and Academy Trusts. Staff representatives also attend meetings as advisors to the board.
Youth Advisory Board
Developing the future of Berkshire Maestros
The Berkshire Maestros Youth Advisory Board was launched in September 2020 as a new platform to enable our students to be involved in influencing strategic decisions and in driving change within the organisation. The board comprises 16 members who meet twice a term with their appointed chair attending board meetings and feeding back to trustees on the work the Youth Advisory Board would like to take forward
There are many ways that you can help to support us to meet our objective to give all Berkshire children access to music education.
