Berkshire Maestros Job Opportunities Berkshire Music Hub

Intern Programme 2018-19

Berkshire Maestros’ paid internship is a valuable opportunity for enthusiastic, talented graduate musicians who are interested in developing their teaching portfolio to ‘EARN WHILE YOU LEARN’.

As an intern with Berkshire Maestros, you will be paid a competitive salary and have access to a range of future career progression opportunities as you train to become a high calibre teacher with one of the country’s leading Music Hubs.

Working as a paid intern introduces teachers at the start of their careers, who may be new to instrumental/whole class teaching, to the peripatetic music profession and equips them with the skills and experience to thrive in the wider work of the music service and the Music Hub.

The Berkshire Maestros’ paid internship combines on the job training and mentoring with high quality teacher training sessions, coaching, observation and feedback as part of a carefully structured training programme. Session delivery also includes partnership training with Reading University Institute of Education.

As a talented performer there will also be numerous opportunities to perform as part of the Music Hub in large scale events and concerts. You will also inspire young musicians of all ages with your musicianship through coaching ensembles and working with our renowned County Ensembles.

We are currently recruiting for Interns in the following areas:

  • Bassoon specialist with general Woodwind – Bracknell and Windsor
  • Oboe specialist with general Woodwind – Reading
  • 2 x Clarinet specialists with general Woodwind – Windsor and Newbury
